I actually remember hearing a pretty sobering statistic recently that claimed up to 80% of women either have cellulite or will get it at some point in their life. So the problem of cellulite is certainly one that needs to be addressed.

 

One of Australia’s leading female fat loss coaches, Sue Heintze, who recently became a mom at 41, has waged her own battle with this mysterious type of fat over the years.

 

And, she has made some profound discoveries that can help you finally reduce, and even eliminate, that lumpy and hard to get rid of fat.

Did you know that many common foods and even your everyday environment are likely contributing significantly to your cellulite and difficult to get rid of fat stores (not to mention your overall health)?

 

As I said in the interview Craig was so nice to allow me to do with him, a recent study by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) performed on hundreds of non-industry workers (ie: those NOT subjected daily to toxic environments) showed that we now have around 100 new chemicals in our blood that were not present there 40 years ago!

 

It’s no secret that these days we tend to rely a lot on foods in packets and boxes. I mean, you’ve got a job or career, a family to feed, look after and entertain, errands to run – AND you’re supposed to get 8 hours of sleep each night, and keep fit too. It’s not surprising you tend to grab something quick and easy – no thought required.

 

You are forgiven for falling into the ‘age of convenience’ trap but it may be causing you a lot more problems, both short and long term, than you care to consider.

 

Things in packets and boxes (even those promoted as being ‘healthy’) are loaded with chemicals, preservatives and things that you don’t even want to know about. Not only do these chemicals and toxins add extra poundage to your waistline – all that “junk” poisons your system making your fat-storing hormone levels go through the roof.

 

I’ve established 3 major nutrition keys that need to be addressed in the fight to eliminate cellulite.

 

  • Eliminate Cellulite - DetoxificationYou need to cleanse, detoxify and balance your internal systems by ensuring your diet is high quality, enabling superior nutrient delivery to body cells, and thus facilitating optimal and expedited fat metabolism

 

  • You need to maximize nutrition on workout days to promote lean, sculpted muscle development, increased energy and enhanced recovery

 

  • You need to stimulate your sluggish metabolism through appropriate nutrient timing to ensure accelerated, ongoing fat loss

 

A well rounded program to fight cellulite needs to address all of the above keys – but it doesn’t end there. The right exercise program is just as important.

 

You see, cellulite affects even lean, active people.

 

Given we spend so much time on our backsides in this ‘age of convenience’, our bodies have become less able to engage and work the glutes (your butt muscles) properly.

 

In a nutshell this is because the more time we spend sitting (think desk job…), the shorter our hip flexors become and the longer or more stretched our glute muscles get – and when your muscles do stretch it is much harder to activate them.

 

So if you want your butt to be nice and firm, tight and toned (as well as avoiding unnecessary back and hip pain), then it’s essential to learn to ‘switch on’ your glutes, make them stronger, and balance them with your hip flexors and quadriceps (the muscle group that tends to ‘take over’ the glutes).

 

If you don’t, you’ll be left with a great imbalance, causing a multitude of problems as time goes on, not the least of which being the ‘saggy, dimply butt syndrome’. NOT the look we are aiming for!

 

For those with weak glutes it’s imperative that you teach your body how to ‘switch on’ the appropriate muscle group.

 

So if you want to kiss cellulite and stubborn fat pockets goodbye, performing strategically programmed exercises in the right COMBINATIONS at the right TIMES is a must.

 

Adding appropriate stretching and activation exercises, and prioritizing posterior chain work (think hamstrings and glutes) will not only help say goodbye to ‘Saggy, Lumpy Butt Syndrome’ it will help to improve or prevent lower back, hip and knee pain.

 

There are 3 major training keys you MUST take into account if you want to reduce and eliminate cellulite and stubborn fat:

 

  • You need to strengthen weak gluteal muscles by performing a group of special exercises that teach your body to activate the appropriate muscles in order to build a firm, toned backside

 

  • You need to sculpt and preserve lean, feminine muscle with resistance training, to shape and firm your rear end

 

  • You need to perform certain strategically placed energy system workouts that not only mobilize fat out of the cells, but FINISH the job by burning it off
