Why Caffeine Pills are One of the Few Bodybuilding Supplements that I Use Every Day When Looking to Cut Fat and Lower My Body Fat Percentage

When people think of bodybuilding supplements, caffeine pills aren’t the first thing to come to mind. In fact, they usually don’t come to mind at all.


Believe it or not, caffeine pills are actually one of the few supplements I wholeheartedly endorse and recommend using on a regular basis.


Taking a 200mg caffeine pill 30 minutes to an hour before working out will lead to heightened training intensity, along with significantly increasing the amount of fat that is ultimately burned while you are weight training or performing cardio for weight loss.


In fact, supplementing your workouts with caffeine pills can be particularly useful if you are trying to burn off the last few pounds of stubborn body fat, or have a specific area of your body that tends to carry more fat than the rest.


Why Caffeine Pills Are So Effective

Caffeine increases the free flow of fatty acids from your fat cells which actually makes it easier for your body to break down fat to be used as energy. I mentioned above that caffeine pills are particularly useful for targeting stubborn areas on your body that tend to carry a greater amount of fat.


A large reason for certain areas to carry more fat is that the fatty acids in these areas of the body are more difficult to release. Consequently, when your body is looking to break down fat to be used for energy, it will turn to areas where the fatty acids are more easily accessible to be oxidized and immediately used for energy.


Caffeine helps to encourage the free flow of fatty acids in these trouble areas which in turn become the preferred area for the body to burn off since there is an abundance of fat storage.


When Bodybuilders Shouldn’t Use Caffeine Pills

While using pre-workout caffeine pills is an effective way to increase fat burning and target problem areas, certain studies have suggested that caffeine can reduce the rate of glucose absorption which is absolutely essential for quickly gaining muscle weight- especially immediately after weight training.


It has been well argued that, when it comes to packing on muscle mass, the post workout meal is the most important meal of the day. After training, your muscles are primed for growth and will need glucose rich blood to start the rebuilding process. It is for this reason that the best post-workout meal for muscle building will consist of about 70% simple carbohydrates and 30% protein.


This ratio provides your muscles with an immediately supply of glucose from the carbohydrates – infused with protein – to give your muscles the nutrients they need for optimum growth.


Because caffeine pills can reduce glucose absorption, if your goal is to build muscle as quickly as possible, I would recommend cycling off of taking caffeine pills before you workout so that your post workout meal can be most effectively utilized by your body for the purpose of building new muscle tissue.


Another option is to continue taking caffeine pills before you workout and simply stop taking them if you notice that your muscle gains begin lagging.


If you are trying to get ripped six pack abs with a toned and sculpted physique, taking 200mg of caffeine pills before you workout is a super-affordable way to increase your ability to burn off excess fat while targeting the areas of your body that tend to carry the highest amount of fat.
